The Chinese government is harvesting organs from religious minorities
The China Tribunal on Tuesday told the UN Human Rights Council that China regularly harvests organs from religious minorities and prisoners of conscience.
This shocking practice has been going on “for years through China on a significant scale,” said Tribunal lawyer Hamid Sabi. Those targeted are “primarily people who practice Falun Gong but also Tibetans, Uighurs, and House Christians.”
Sabi described forced organ harvesting as “one of the worst mass atrocities of this century” and told the UN that its members have a “legal obligation” to act.
After hearing evidence from medical experts, human rights investigators, and witnesses, the Tribunal concluded that China has been removing organs from the Falun Gong group for at least 20 years.
Victims were “killed to order…cut open while still alive for their kidneys, livers, hearts, lungs, cornea, and skin to be removed and turned into commodities for sale,” said the Tribunal.
“Organ transplantation to save life is a scientific and social triumph, but killing the donor is criminal,” added Sabi.
Last year, the UN said it had evidence China was holding up to 2 million Uighur Muslims in secret camps.
China has described the camps as ‘re-education facilities’ necessary to eradicate religious extremism. Detainees say they were tortured, brainwashed with Communist doctrine, and asked to abandon their faith.
The Tribunal claims the camps are also used as organ banks.
The detainment of minority groups for this purpose is a “possible charge of genocide,” said Sabi, comparing China’s behavior to the Holocaust.
The China Tribunal is an independent organization backed by the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China.
Goodnight, Sleepy Joe
Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into President Trump and his phone call to the Ukrainian President may have ignited the fire that will destroy Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
Unfortunately for Democrats, the investigation brings to light another scandal for Joe Biden: the fact that his son worked for a Ukrainian company while Biden, as VP, threatened to withhold money from the Ukrainian government.
Hunter Biden served on the board of Ukrainian oil and gas company Burisma from 2014 to 2019, making $50,000 per month. Critics said the hire was an attempt to influence then-Vice President Biden, who oversaw Ukrainian policy at the White House.
Burisma was founded by Mykola Zlochevsky, who later worked as Environment Minister under Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. After Yanukovych was ousted by public protest in 2014, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Ukraine launched investigations into Zlochevsky regarding allegations of embezzlement and tax fraud.
In December 2014, the United States complained that Ukraine wasn’t doing enough to move the investigation forward. In 2016, Vice President Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees from Ukraine unless the nation’s lead prosecutor (Viktor Shokin) was removed from office. Shokin was also investigating Burisma.
Critics say Biden used his position in the US Government to protect his son – an impeachable offense.
As reporters have started to question Biden about Ukraine, rival Elizabeth Warren has moved to first place in two national polls (the first time this has happened).
Speaking at a campaign event on Wednesday, Warren suggested it was inappropriate to allow the son of the Vice President of the United States to serve on the board of a foreign company.
In the meantime, President Trump’s 2020 campaign raised $5 million in 24 hours.
