Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin has added to his 2021 election margin of victory, becoming a popular commonwealth leader as he heads into the nation’s heartland to help 2022 Republican candidates and considers his own political future.
The Details:
The latest Morning Consult survey shows that he is the 22nd most popular governor in the country, holding a 53% approval rating. That is equal to the approval rating of Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is the No. 1 2024 alternative candidate to former President Donald Trump.
“Republican Govs. Ron DeSantis of Florida and Glenn Youngkin of Virginia, two potential presidential prospects in 2024, both hold 53% approval ratings, though the Floridian’s standing has dropped slightly (from 56%) in the previous quarter,” noted the survey analysis. Read more…
