After The Past Decade, Why Would Anybody Trust The FBI?

The Grind:

According to a poll from late 2022, 50% of Americans trust the FBI either “hardly ever” or “some of the time.”

That raises the question, what’s with the other half of Americans who still give the G-Men the benefit of the doubt?

If events over the past 10 years haven’t been enough to convince those fellow countrymen that something is seriously amiss with the FBI, then perhaps the latest story will do the trick.

The Details:

On Monday, Charles McGonigal, a former top FBI agent who was involved in the Trump-Russia probe, was arrested over the weekend for alleged activities with a Russian oligarch. Put another way, it seems that the guy who was investigating Trump for Russian collusion wound up colluding with Russia. The alleged crimes occurred in 2021 after McGonigal had resigned, but they could taint his previous work.

The news is only the most recent evidence that the FBI needs to be dismantled by Congress.
